Profile pictures are displayed small and cropped to a circle on most platforms, so a PFP needs one or two words, a heavy font and a lot of empty green around the text.

Export at 1000×1000 pixels or larger. A square image is what every platform expects; it will crop the corners itself, so nothing important should sit near the edge.

Keep roughly 12% of the canvas clear on each side. That margin is what stops the first and last letters from being cut off inside a circular frame.

   Set the aspect ratio to square (1:1). A portrait or landscape image will be cropped unevenly by the platform later.

   Two short words at most. Anything longer becomes unreadable once the image is reduced to 48 pixels in a comment thread.

   #8ACE00 with Bebas Neue or Anton is the combination that stays legible at avatar size. Black text, not white.

   Leave a margin

   Reduce the font size until there is a clear border of background around the text. That border is the safe zone for circular crops.

   Download the PNG, upload it, then look at it in a circle. If a letter is clipped, shrink the text and export again.

What size should a Brat PFP be?

At least 1000×1000 pixels. Platforms downscale it themselves; starting larger keeps the type sharp on high-density screens.

Will my profile picture be cropped into a circle?

On Instagram, Discord, TikTok and X it will. Keep the text inside the middle of the square and leave a margin so the crop never touches a letter.

How many words fit in a profile picture?

One or two. Three words only work if they are very short and the font size is reduced to keep the margin.

Can I use the same image for a banner or post?

The square version works as a post. For a banner, rebuild it at the wider aspect ratio rather than cropping the PFP — the type will be too large otherwise.
